Sultan’s Scholars Program Concludes with Emphasis on National and Global Responsibilities
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN — The ‘Sultan’s Scholars’ Development Programme, aimed at preparing graduates to take on national and global challenges, held its closing ceremony at a local hotel in Bandar Seri Begawan on the morning of August 17.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Permanent Secretary for Planning, Land Use and Environment at the Ministry of Development and Acting Managing Director of Yayasan, the ceremony marked the culmination of a robust training regimen designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and experience. The programme, which included phases in both Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore, involved 12 participants, consisting of 7 students and 5 alumni currently employed in various government and private sectors.
Certificates were presented by Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Dayang Hajah Nor Hashimah binti Haji Mohammed Taib, Attorney General and member of the Yayasan Board of Directors and the Yayasan ‘Sultan’s Scholar’ Scholarship Scheme Steering Committee. Dr. Nor Imtihan emphasized that the initiative is aimed at broadening the participants’ understanding of and sensitivity to the developmental needs and challenges of Brunei, particularly in achieving the objectives of Wawasan Brunei 2035.
