Post: Sultan of Brunei Receives Singapore Deputy Prime Minister for Introductory Visit

Bandar seri begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah of Brunei Darussalam received His Excellency Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry of the Republic of Singapore, in an audience ceremony. This visit marks His Excellency’s introductory trip to Brunei Darussalam following his appointment on 15th May 2024. The meeting aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the visit provided an opportunity for the leaders to discuss potential cooperation and collaboration in trade and investment, involving Brunei’s Ministry of Finance and Economy. In attendance at the Audience Ceremony were notable figures such as Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, and Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

His Excellency Gan Kim Yong was accompanied by His Excellency Laurence Bay, High Commissioner of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam, and Mr. Adrian Ng, Director-General for Asia, Middle East, and Africa at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The Audience Ceremony took place on the afternoon of 30th September at Istana Nurul Iman.
