Sultan of Brunei Hosts Singaporean Prime Minister for Young Leaders’ Programme

Bandar seri begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received His Excellency Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance of the Republic of Singapore, during an Audience Ceremony at Cheradi Ratna Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman. The Prime Minister is visiting Brunei to attend the 11th Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP) between the two nations.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony saw the participation of members of the Royal Family and key government ministers, including His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office. Discussions during the ceremony focused on enhancing bilateral relations, with both leaders expressing their commitment to explore new areas of cooperation and reinforcing existing ties, such as currency interchangeability, defense, and people-to-people exchanges.

Following the Audience Ceremony, a Luncheon at Baiturrahmah, Istana Nurul Iman, was held with the presence of the Royal Family. The event included a Doa Selamat recitation by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr.) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti. The visit marks His Excellency Lawrence Wong’s official trip to Brunei as the 4th Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore.
