Post: Sultan of Brunei Highlights Strategic Focus at BLNG and BGC Board Meetings

Bandar seri begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, acknowledged the robust performance of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad (BLNG) and Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad (BGC) during the 229th Board of Directors Meeting of BLNG and the 115th Board Meeting of BGC for the First Quarter of 2026. The meetings were held at the Prime Minister's Office.

According to Radio Television Brunei, His Majesty highlighted the importance of sustaining the companies' strong operational performance, financial resilience, and commitment to safety as demonstrated in 2025. His Majesty emphasized the need for vigilance and prudent judgment amidst the current global energy landscape characterized by geopolitical uncertainty and volatile oil prices. He stressed the importance of adopting a long-term perspective beyond immediate market cycles.

His Majesty made these remarks while chairing the board meetings, where he was welcomed by key figures including Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd. Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, and Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd. Hanifah, Deputy Minister for Energy at the Prime Minister's Office. The meetings focused on critical areas such as safety, operational performance, financials, manpower development, and strategic direction for both companies.

The meetings were attended by key stakeholders, including Shareholder Directors representing the Government of His Majesty, Shell PLC, and Mitsubishi Corporation, as well as members of the respective management teams from BLNG and BGC. His Majesty is also scheduled to chair additional board meetings for Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd (BSP) and Brunei Shell Marketing Sdn Bhd (BSM) on April 23, 2026.
