MAKATI CITY – The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 14 kicked off with standout performances from Smart Omega and the newly-formed Aurora Gaming, who each secured victories in their opening matches on Friday at the Green Sun Hotel Activity Center.

According to Philippines News Agency, Aurora Gaming made a spectacular debut by sweeping Blacklist International 2-0 in a match filled with pre-game anticipation. Aurora, composed mainly of former Blacklist members, displayed strategic superiority over the current Blacklist team, which opted to activate younger players for the opener. The game began cautiously with no kills in the first 10 minutes, but Aurora seized control during the crucial Lord battles, ultimately securing the win with decisive plays.

In contrast, Smart Omega, maintaining their lineup from last season, also claimed a 2-0 victory against TNC in the season’s opening game. This win was particularly notable as it spoiled the debut of TNC’s new head coach, Caisam Nopueto, whose team has undergone significant changes.
