LPA, ITCZ to bring rain showers over parts of Luzon

The southern and eastern parts of Luzon will continue to experience rain showers due to the low pressure area (LPA) and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) Tuesday, according to the weather bureau. “The LPA which was last tracked 260 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon still has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, however, it will bring rains to the eastern parts of Luzon,” Grace CastaƱeda of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. The ITCZ is expected to cause rain showers over parts of Southern Luzon, she said. Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the LPA and ITCZ will prevail over Region 4-B (Mimaropa), Bicol Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora and Quezon, she added. Isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country. PAGASA said moderate to at times heavy rains as well as severe thunderstorms may result in flash floods and landslides thus the public must take precautions. Meanwhile, the whole archipelago will continue to experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waves at seas.
