Sighting of the New Moon of Ramadhan 1446 Hijrah Scheduled Nationwide

Bandar Seri Begawan: The sighting of the new moon of Ramadhan for 1446 Hijrah is set to be conducted across the country on Friday, 29th of Syaaban 1446 Hijrah, aligning with the 28th of February 2025. Syarie judges and officers from the Syariah Courts, State Judiciary Department, Prime Minister’s Office, along with officials from the Survey Department, Ministry of Development, will be present at several designated sites to observe the new moon of Ramadhan.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the designated venues for the moon sighting include the Mutiara Exchange Building on Tungku Highway, Tanjung Batu Recreational Park in Kampung Sabun, Bukit Agok in Jerudong, Bukit Ambog in the Tutong District, and Bukit Lumut in the Belait District. The public is advised not to approach these locations during the sighting process.

The official announcement for the commencement of the 1st of Ramadhan for 1446 Hijrah / 2025 will be broadcast through Radio Television Brunei as soon as the results of the moon sighting are confirmed.
