BuCor and PCCR Collaborate on Career Placement and Research Initiatives
Manila – The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) and the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) signed a memorandum of agreement on Friday to enhance their partnership in academic development, career placement, and research. BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr. and PCCR President Ma. Angelica Lei G. Bautista finalized the agreement, which includes provisions for internships, employment, and education for PCCR students and BuCor employees.
According to Philippines News Agency, the collaboration aims to improve criminal justice education in the Philippines.
The agreement allows PCCR students to undertake internships at BuCor facilities, while BuCor will consider PCCR alumni for employment and permit its employees to engage in part-time teaching at PCCR. Both institutions will work together to enhance PCCR’s study programs and conduct relevant research projects. Additionally, PCCR will offer educational discounts and scholarships to BuCor employees and their dependents. Special programs will be developed for persons deprived of liberty, focusing on mental health, resilience, and emotional well-being. The agreement also includes behavior modification programs and a comprehensive Cybersecurity Certification Program for BuCor employees, promoting skill development and professional growth.
