Halal Food Import Violations Seized in ‘Operasi Sepadu’ Raid

During a joint enforcement operation known as “Operasi Bersepadu,” officials confiscated 110 kilograms of chicken wings and tails from a vehicle in the Kampung Salambigar Industrial Area on April 25. The Halal Food Control Division of the Department of Syar’iah Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs, in cooperation with the Royal Customs and Excise Department, led the operation, which targeted illegal imports of non-halal meat products.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the confiscated meat did not have the necessary Halal Import Permit required by the Brunei Islamic Religious Council. The case has been handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further investigation and legal action. The ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to halal import regulations to ensure that all meat sold in the country meets strict halal standards, protecting the integrity of food consumed by the public.
