Post: Responses to Several Queries by Appointed Members

Bandar Seri Begawan: The First Meeting of the 21st Legislative Council session on the 11th Day approved the allocations for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health. Before these allocations were granted, the council addressed various queries presented by appointed members, including health services commitments, workforce planning, and disciplinary action on civil servants.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Minister of Health responded to practical measures needed to balance commitments in public health service provision. The Ministry has enhanced its prevention and health awareness campaigns to address the rising medical costs, aiming to educate and inform the public more effectively.

In terms of workforce planning, collaboration with stakeholders such as industry and educational institutions is emphasized. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy referred to the action plan derived from the CSPS study, which is designed to ensure the planning and provision of an appropriate and skilled workforce aligned with industry needs.

Regarding government regulations for suspended civil servants, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence highlighted that the Public Service Commission requires comprehensive, immediate, and organized information from government agencies. This is crucial in considering disciplinary actions in accordance with existing regulations.
