Gadong: The Regional Seminar of the Agro-Eco-Edu-Tourism (AEET) Prototype, organised in collaboration with the Southeast Asian Regional Centre for Tropical Biology (SEAMEO BIOTROP), was held at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Learning Advancement and Innovation Hub in Gadong, on the morning of 27th November. Present at the seminar was Doctor Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli, the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Technical Education at IBTE. Initially introduced by SEAMEO BIOTROP in 2022, the AEET concept has been a regional model for experiential environmental learning. Its implementation in Brunei represents ongoing efforts to adapt this approach to local ecological and educational contexts. The seminar featured four key presentation sessions and included an open discussion that allowed participants to exchange insights and regional perspectives.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the Official Launching Ceremony of the AEET Prototype took place in the afternoon. The launch was officiated by Dayang Farhana binti Haji Awang Nurzainah/Md. Noor, Deputy Director for Development and IBTE Chief Executive Officer, alongside Dr. Doni Yusri, Deputy Director of the SEAMEO BIOTROP Programme. This project is an initiative to support regional cooperation in sustainable agriculture, biodiversity education, and eco-tourism, aiming to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across Southeast Asia. The launch event was held at the IBTE Agro-Technology Campus in Wasan.
