Quezon City – Residents from Quezon City and Pasig City have successfully claimed their substantial jackpots from separate lotto draws, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced on Sunday.
According to Philippines News Agency, a 50-year-old from Quezon City, who has been participating in lotto draws for almost 30 years, won the MegaLotto 6/45 draw on November 6. The winning amount was PHP107,506,074.20, achieved with the combination 13-31-16-01-25-10. The winner received the cheque at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City on November 10.
In a separate instance, a 65-year-old former overseas worker from Pasig City claimed his prize of PHP21,966,450.20 after winning the Lotto 6/42 draw on September 21. He shared that he has been playing lotto since 1995 and nearly won the jackpot in 2018 with five matching numbers. This near-win increased his determination to continue participating in the lotto. Both winners attributed their success to using the birthdates of their relatives as their chosen numbers and expressed plans to invest their winnings in business ventures.
As per Republic Act 1169, known as the PCSO Charter, lotto winners have one year from the draw date to claim their prizes to avoid forfeiture. The winnings can be claimed at the PCSO's main office, with the presentation of the winning ticket and two government-issued identification cards required. The PCSO encourages the public to continue supporting its products, as a significant portion of its revenue is allocated to charity programs.
