Bandar seri begawan: Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah binti His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, President of the Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam, attended a Khatam Al-Qur’an ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 79th Birthday Celebration. The event took place at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Secondary Arabic Religious School, Kampung Katok, where she was welcomed by Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohd. Ali, Lifelong Vice President of the association, and Hajah Viviyanti binti Haji Md. Ali, Vice President of the association.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony began with the reading of Sayyidul Istighfar, Selawat Tafrijiyyah, and Doa before commencing the Quran recitation. Dayang Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Abd Ghani, the association’s Spiritual Commissioner, led the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah.
Participants from the Sultan Sharif Ali’s Young Leaders’ Unit presented the reading of Tahtim. The reading of Doa Khatam was led by Doctor Mariam binti Haji Abdul Rahman, the association’s Young Leaders Commissioner. The association’s Spiritual Commissioner concluded the ceremony with the reading of Doa Selamat and Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
