Prime Minister’s Office and MPABD Sign MoU to Enhance Maritime Security Cooperation

Kuala belait: The Prime Minister’s Office and the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam, MPABD, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, at a ceremony held at the MPABD Building in Kuala Belait. Present at the event was Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu, Deputy Minister for Security and Law at the Prime Minister’s Office, who also serves as the Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the MoU was signed by Awang Zulhusam bin Haji Abdul Samad, Acting Permanent Secretary for Security and Law at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Retired Captain Zil Husam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive of MPABD. The agreement aims to bolster cooperation in maritime security and national security interests through a ‘Whole of Government’ approach. In conjunction with the signing, a visit to the ‘National Coastal Surveillance System’ in Kampung Sungai Teraban, Kuala Belait, was also conducted.
