President Marcos Sends Birthday Greetings to Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim

Manila — Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. conveyed heartfelt birthday wishes to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Sunday, highlighting their deep friendship and shared experiences as leaders in Southeast Asia.

According to Philippines News Agency, President Marcos reflected on the longstanding personal and professional relationship with PM Anwar. He stated, “To my dear friend, Prime Minister Anwar, I am so happy to be able to greet you on your special day. We have known each other for some years now, even before we assumed our roles as fellow leaders in ASEAN.” Marcos credited their friendship with making the rigors of leadership more tolerable and, at times, even enjoyable.

In his message, Marcos praised Anwar’s commitment to Malaysia and spoke of the shared visions and successes that inspire both leaders to navigate the future challenges facing their nations. He recalled fond memories, from casual karaoke nights to significant discussions at bilateral and multilateral meetings, underscoring the multifaceted nature of their bond.
