PKBN Training Camp will be a Special Platform

In an interview for the similar programme, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports explained that the Ministry takes two main approaches from the ‘spin-off’ of the construction of the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge, which are, efforts to attract more visitors to Temburong District and to optimise the existing facilities. Looking at the potential of the National Service Programme, PKBN Training Camp Complex as one of the significant investments which should provide a ‘return of investment’, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports has carried out several initiatives to maximise its use. The initiative, according to Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, is to open the PKBN Training Camp Complex for the use of the public and transforming the PKBN Traning Camp into a full-time camp.

“In a long term, the Temburong District PKBN Training Camp will be a special platform to conduct mass gathering programmes at the national level which are usually focused in other districts. This is inline with the ministry’s strategy to determine the spin-off for Temburong District, by continuing and enhancing the use of the facility as a strategic, physical and intellectual activity site which can be mutually used by the government and non-government parties. We will also continue to organise more youth activities including seminars, forums, intellectual activities, the Youth Townhall, leadership camps, self-development activities and boot camps at the PKBN Training Camp.”
