A 67-year-old senior citizen managed to earn nearly $3,000 from pineapple farming on 1.6 hectares of land in Kampung Merangking, Labi.
Under Syarikat Bukti Hasil Usaha owned by Dayang Asmah binti Haji Hamdi, the pineapple farm has been cultivated for the past 10 years. The farm was started by her father, and now Dayang Asmah continues to run the farm where she plants a type of pineapple called ‘Nanas Paun.’
The pineapples produced were then sold in bulk at the said farm. Despite facing many challenges, Dayang Asmah continues to persevere in running the farm with the help and guidance of the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.
