LANAO DEL SUR/SULU - Philippine authorities arrested six suspected drug dealers and confiscated PHP3.6 million worth of 'shabu' in separate anti-drug operations conducted in Lanao del Sur and Sulu. The successful operations, as reported on Friday, signify a major step in the ongoing fight against illegal drug trafficking in the region.
According to Philippines News Agency, Director Christian Frivaldo of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-BARMM) reported that the operations took place in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, and Patikul town in Sulu. In Marawi City, Minsuary Abinal and Ansary Gulman were arrested near a hospital for selling shabu, with an estimated PHP3.4 million worth of the drug confiscated. The two suspects did not resist arrest. Concurrently, PDEA operatives apprehended Rashier Bakil, Al Naber Jadjuli, Apalal Padjiri, and Utal Abdulla in Barangay Latih, Patikul, Sulu, seizing several sachets of shabu valued at around PHP200,000. All the suspects are currently detained and have been charged under the Republic Act 9166 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
