Negros Oriental Sees Surge in Online Transactions Among Pag-IBIG Members


NEGROS ORIENTAL – A significant majority of Pag-IBIG Fund members in Negros Oriental have shifted to online transactions, exceeding the 60 percent threshold.



According to Philippines News Agency, the branch head of Pag-IBIG Fund in Negros Oriental. In an effort to streamline operations and enhance service delivery, members are being encouraged to utilize the fund’s virtual platforms for a variety of transactions, aligning with the 3-7-20 working days program for processing.



Garan highlighted in a recent interview that the move towards digital platforms is part of a broader strategy to ensure that Pag-IBIG can serve its members and clients more efficiently. This initiative supports the “Bagong Pilipinas” program championed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., aiming to modernize and improve the responsiveness of government services to the public. Through the online system, transactions that previously took days to process can now be completed within three to twenty working days, depending on the complexity of the member’s request or issue.



Despite the successful adoption of online services by a majority of members, the Pag-IBIG office in Negros Oriental still faces challenges, particularly with the updating and reconciliation of members’ records. Garan acknowledged these issues but remains optimistic that the integration of technology will soon mitigate these problems, further improving service delivery and member satisfaction.



Although the transition to online services has been successful for many, Garan noted that in-person queues persist at the Pag-IBIG office due to limited internet access among some members. Efforts are ongoing to encourage more members to sign up for and use the Virtual Pag-IBIG website, with the goal of significantly reducing the need for physical visits to the office.
