Trade Growth Recorded in March 2025 as Exports and Imports Rise
Bandar Seri Begawan: The total trade for March 2025 increased by 12.3 percent to 2,015 million dollars when compared to February 2025. This growth was highlighted in a press release from the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, JPES, Ministry of Finance and Economy.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the rise was primarily driven by an 11.1 percent increase in exports and a 14.4 percent growth in imports.
The major contributors to the export value were identified as Mineral Fuels, Chemicals, and Machinery and Transport Equipment, with Mineral Fuels leading the charge. On the imports side, the three main commodities were Mineral Fuels, Machinery and Transport Equipment, and Food. In a comparison with February 2025, the trade balance in March 2025 saw an increase of 6.3 percent.
