PCCI Antique Chapter to Boost Local MSMEs Product Development and Marketing

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA — The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) in Antique has pledged support for the province’s micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) to enhance and market their products effectively.

According to Philippines News Agency, the initiative aims to bolster the competitiveness of local products, including food, housewares, and furniture, by improving their market appeal. “The PCCI will act as a big brother to assist MSMEs in making their products saleable and even in procuring the necessary raw materials,” Rodriguez stated during an interview on Wednesday.

The organization is collaborating with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at the provincial level to form a partnership dedicated to aiding MSMEs. Additionally, coordination with local government units (LGUs) is underway to select the initial five MSMEs in each municipality for participation in product development and marketing training programs.

Rodriguez highlighted the PCCI’s openness to welcoming other MSMEs interested in joining the organization. Preparations are also being made for the Antique Business Expo, scheduled to take place in April in San Jose de Buenavista. The event aims to attract business figures from outside the province for potential business matching with Antique’s MSMEs. “Although the date is still being finalized, this three-day event will serve as a platform for local MSMEs to connect with businessmen from various locations,” Rodriguez added.

With Antique’s economy heavily reliant on agriculture, the expo and the PCCI’s support efforts are seen as vital opportunities for local MSMEs to find new markets for their products through business matching.
