Bandar seri begawan: Brunei Darussalam is actively involved in international collaboration to ensure the nation’s health system is always ahead in facing global challenges. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health highlighted the matter in a statement titled Health Service Sustainability.
According to Radio Television Brunei, in 2024, Brunei Darussalam was appointed as a member of the WHO Executive Board to represent Western Pacific region nations. This was an international recognition towards Brunei Darussalam’s credibility and leadership in the health field. This role enabled Brunei Darussalam to contribute towards global health policy, and establish ties between regional needs and universal health agenda, in line with the aspirations of Wawasan Brunei 2035. It also gave Brunei Darussalam the opportunity to share the best practices and benefit from the latest health strategies and technologies.
