‘Operasi Sepadu’ Highlights Ethical Business Practices in Brunei Muara District

Bandar seri begawan: Traders are advised to conduct ethical business activities following an ‘Operasi Sepadu’ carried out at three business premises in Kampung Kapok, Brunei Muara District. The operation was executed by the Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) through the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) and the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DEPS) through the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Finance and Economy.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the SDT Unit enforcement officers found that twelve units of measuring and weighing instruments used for commercial purposes were in compliance with the Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151 and the (Research) Regulations 1994. Traders were reminded to display the net weight mark for packaged goods, facilitating easier choices and better spending management for buyers. All inspected business premises adhered to the Price Control Act, Chapter 142 and its Regulations.
