Operasi Bersepadu Panyap Leads to Multiple Immigration Offences Uncovered

Mukim sengkurong: An ‘Operasi Bersepadu Panyap’ carried out by the Law Enforcement Division, Department of Immigration and National Registration together with the Enforcement Division, Labour Department targeted a business company in Mukim Sengkurong.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the operation involved the examination of five foreigners, one of whom was ordered to report to the Law Enforcement Division, Department of Immigration and National Registration for further investigation as he was believed to be working not according to the position stated in his passport. The Enforcement Division of the Labour Department identified three offences: the employer was employing a foreigner without a license from the Labour Commissioner; violating the conditions of the foreign worker recruitment license; and failing to declare the place of business activity to the Labour Department.

In another operation, the Law Enforcement Division, Kuala Belait Branch, Department of Immigration and National Registration targeted a foreign worker’s accommodation in Mukim Liang. As a result, nine foreigners were examined and seven were detained and brought to the Law Enforcement Division for further investigation. Two individuals had absconded from their employers and were overstaying in the country after their immigration passes had expired; while five individuals failed to produce any valid documents and are believed to be overstaying in the country. Additionally, two individuals were ordered to report to the Law Enforcement Division for further investigation for working not according to the position stated in their passports.
