Masbate Arrests: Two NPA Rebels Captured Facing Multiple Charges

Masbate – The Police Regional Office 5 in Bicol reported the capture of two alleged members of the New People’s Army (NPA) during operations in the province of Masbate.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Police Regional Office 5, the arrests occurred on Tuesday and were part of an intensified crackdown on individuals facing criminal charges. Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, the PRO5 spokesperson, named the arrested as alias Renan and alias Leoncio, both claimed to be active in the NPA’s operations within the region. Renan was apprehended in San Fernando town on charges of multiple attempted murders and was listed as the No. 7 most wanted person in the municipality. The authorities set his bail at PHP120,000. Concurrently, Leoncio was detained on similar charges. Both are alleged to have been under the command of one Eliseo Cabarles, known as alias Kiko, within the organization’s provincial structure.
