CAGAYAN DE ORO — In a significant move to streamline social welfare services, the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) has been adopted to incorporate the data of 17,740 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Northern Mindanao.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Social Welfare and Development director for Region 10, the partnership between the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-10) and the Philippine Statistics Authority Region 10 (PSA-10) is a testament to their dedication to improving the lives of Filipinos. The integration into PhilSys aims to reduce bureaucratic redundancy and ensure more efficient distribution of government aid.
The 4Ps program is integral to the nation's poverty reduction strategy by providing financial support to the poorest families. The integration is part of a broader effort to establish a singular, reliable identification system for all citizens and resident aliens through PhilSys, enhancing the delivery of social welfare services and reinforcing transparency.
Janith Aves, the Officer-in-Charge of PSA-10, emphasized the importance of creating a digitally connected and inclusive society through PhilSys. The DSWD and PSA are encouraging all 4Ps beneficiaries to register, with the process being conducted across designated areas in each province.
The PSA is also making a call to action for individuals who have not registered or received their e-PhilID, underscoring the goal of registering 92 million individuals by the end of the current year.
