Brunei’s Legislative Council Endorses Strategic Governance Approach for Wawasan 2035
Bandar seri begawan: Before proceeding to the motion on Wawasan Brunei 2035, the council approved a proposal regarding the Legislative Council’s memberships in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA). Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, who serves as the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence, emphasized the government’s commitment to achieving national objectives using both ‘whole-of-government’ and ‘whole-of-nation’ methodologies.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat highlighted the need to bolster strategic governance through long-term, evidence-based development policies that provide clear and lasting benefits to the citizens and the nation. He underscored the importance of improving public service efficiency by implementing the Institution Transformation and Modernisation Plan, which aims to enhance institutional capacity, human capital, presentation innovation, and accountability, as well as ensuring positive outcomes.
