Meteorological Department Marks World Meteorological Day with Tahlil Ceremony

Berakas — The Meteorological Department of the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunication commemorated World Meteorological Day 2024 with a special ceremony at the Brunei International Airport Surau on March 30. The event included the mass Fardhu Zuhur Prayer, the reading of Surah Yasin, Tahlil, and Doa Selamat, with Awang Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Transport, in attendance.

According to Radio Television Brunei, World Meteorological Day, celebrated annually on March 23, marks the establishment of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Convention in 1950. Brunei Darussalam, as a member of this significant scientific body under the United Nations, actively participates in commemorating this day to highlight the importance of meteorological and atmospheric sciences in daily life.
