Post: Maritime Technical Workshop Strengthens Brunei-US Collaboration

Bandar seri begawan: The Prime Minister's Office, through the Security and Law Division Unit of the National Maritime Coordination Centre, co-hosted a Maritime Technical Workshop with the office of the US Embassy in the country. The event took place at the Radisson Hotel in Bandar Seri Begawan and was officiated by Yang Amat Mulia, Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Saifullah bin Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris, the Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the workshop serves as a significant platform to enhance maritime technical understanding and address evolving maritime security challenges through the exchange of best practices and expertise. In his opening remarks, Commander Rasman bin Puteh, the Maritime Director of the National Maritime Coordination Centre, expressed appreciation for the US government's ongoing positive engagement with local counterparts in institutional and capacity-building initiatives. The exchange of best practices and technical insights aims to streamline maritime knowledge and strengthen the ideas of collective and coordinated responses to maritime security challenges.

The workshop emphasizes the importance of a Whole of Government approach in maritime security and highlights the strategic significance of international partnerships. Such collaboration supports Brunei's national interests and fosters a regional spirit of cooperation.
