Signing of Memorandum of Understanding Strengthens IBTE and Industry Partnerships

Gadong: The Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE, has further strengthened its collaboration with industry partners through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, focused on technical and vocational education and training, TVET, particularly through its apprenticeship programs. The MoU formalizes the cooperation between IBTE and both new and existing industry partners, and the signing ceremony took place this morning at a hotel in Gadong.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was witnessed by Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education. A total of eighteen companies signed the MoU with IBTE, with Doctor Suhaimi bin Haji Abdul Wahab, Acting IBTE Chief Executive Officer and Director of Technical Education, signing on behalf of IBTE. His Excellency Tran Anh Vu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the country, was also present at the ceremony. Through these partnerships, IBTE aims to equip apprentices with the knowledge, skills, and credentials needed to enhance their employability and contribute meaningfully to Brunei’s economic development.
