Post: Launching of Net Zero Aqua-PV Project in Brunei Darussalam

Bandar seri begawan: Brunei Darussalam has launched the first large-scale solar-powered shrimp aquaculture facility in Southeast Asia.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the facility embodies a holistic approach that balances economic opportunity with environmental responsibility and sustainability. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, stated this at the launch of the Net Zero Aqua-PV Project for next-generation blue shrimp and A.I integration Hub at the Muara Fisheries Complex, Kampung Serasa. Yang Berhormat emphasized that this initiative aligns with the country’s long-term development goals, particularly in supporting food security, energy transition, and low-carbon growth.

The project was co-launched by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, along with the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism. The launch marked a significant milestone in the integration of sustainable aquaculture and intelligent agriculture, paving the way for innovative practices in the region.
