La Salle and Ateneo Set for Clash in V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge

MANILA – The longstanding rivalry between De La Salle University and Ateneo will be reignited this Sunday at the V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge, with both teams facing off at noon in Paco Arena.

According to Philippines News Agency, the team is poised to maintain their winning streak, having secured three consecutive victories, most recently against Emilio Aguinaldo College with scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-21. Key player Joshua Magalaman contributed significantly to the win with 13 points, including 10 attacks and three blocks. Ateneo, conversely, is looking to rebound from a recent loss to Letran and improve their current 1-2 record in the league.

The day’s matches will also feature a contest between University of Santo Tomas (UST) and Perpetual Help at 2 p.m., with UST coming off a tightly contested victory over National University. Key players for UST include Jan Julian Macam and Rey Miguel de Vega, while Perpetual will rely on the skills of Kobe Tabuga and Jefferson Marapoc among others. UST head coach Odjie Mamon anticipates a challenging and educational match for his team.

Additionally, in women’s competition, defending champions College of St. Benilde will go up against Letran at 5 p.m. Both teams have had a mixed start to the season and will be looking to assert their dominance in this important match.
