KUPU SB’s 15th Convocation Ceremony Celebrates 225 Graduates

Bandar seri begawan: 225 graduates received Degrees and Diplomas at KUPU SB’s 15th Convocation Ceremony this year. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, serving as Chancellor of KUPU SB, conferred the degrees and diplomas to the graduates. The ceremony took place at the Chancellor Hall, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs, and Associate Professor Doctor Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani, Ra’es of KUPU SB.

The graduates presented the reading of Surah Al-Hujurat verses 4 to 7. In his welcoming speech, the Ra’es of KUPU SB highlighted the new programmes offered by KUPU SB for the 2026/2027 academic session. Following the speeches, His Majesty conferred the degrees and diplomas to the graduates.

Among the 225 graduates, one was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Religious Education, 21 received the Master’s Degree in Religious Education, 45 earned Postgraduate Diplomas in Religious Education, 76 obtained Bachelor’s Degrees in Religious Education, and 82 received the Highest Diploma in Religious Education.

To encourage high-quality research, KUPU SB introduced the Timely Graduate Recognition Award and the Excellent Research Award. The ceremony concluded with a doa selamat read by the State Mufti. Before departing, His Majesty viewed a mini exhibition showcasing various activities, programmes, and achievements of KUPU SB.
