Post: ITCZ and Easterlies to Affect Weather Across the Philippines This Saturday

MANILA - The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) along with easterly winds are set to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across the Philippines this Saturday. The weather systems are expected to affect various regions throughout the country.

According to Philippines News Agency, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), their 4 a.m. weather bulletin reported that the ITCZ and easterlies will cause cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rain showers and thunderstorms primarily over the Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Mimaropa, Quezon, and the Bicol Region. Other areas of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA also issued a warning regarding the potential for flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms. Residents in affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions.

Meteorological conditions for the day include light to moderate winds across the archipelago with slight to moderate seas. Temperature forecasts for key cities are as follows: Metro Manila is expected to have temperatures ranging from 25°C to 32°C; Baguio City from 16°C to 25°C; Tuguegarao City from 24°C to 35°C; Laoag City from 25°C to 32°C; Legazpi City from 26°C to 32°C; Metro Cebu from 25°C to 30°C; Puerto Princesa City from 26°C to 32°C; SBMA from 24°C to 33°C; Metro Davao from 24°C to 32°C; and Zamboanga City from 25°C to 32°C.
