Bandar Seri Begawan: The Minister of Education has addressed the proposal concerning the implementation of international standards in student assessments, particularly the replacement of the Primary School Assessment. The Ministry of Education has already put in place student assessments for levels ranging from primary to secondary, specifically from years 1 to 9. These assessments are grounded in the National Standard, which aligns with international standards, and are specifically tailored to the Brunei Darussalam Literacy and Numeracy National Standard (BDLNS).
According to Radio Television Brunei, the Ministry of Education is committed to ensuring these existing standards are continually strengthened and reviewed over time. This commitment extends beyond literacy and numeracy, as the Ministry plans to establish standards for other subjects. These include Science, Malay Language, Financial Literacy, among others, to ensure a comprehensive and holistic approach to education that meets international benchmarks.
