International Recovery Day Celebrated with Emphasis on Community Support
Bandar seri begawan: ‘Sinar Menuju Pemulihan’, the theme of the International Recovery Day Celebration, emphasised a hopeful call for society to provide opportunities and support to former drug users to reintegrate into the community. The Launching of International Recovery Day, in conjunction with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2025, was held on 11th October afternoon. The ceremony, organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), took place at One City Shopping Centre, Kampung Salambigar.
According to Radio Television Brunei, officiating the celebration was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health. During the event, two video clips were also launched: a video clip titled ‘Pulih Bersama’, which serves as the theme song for International Recovery Day, and another video titled ‘Keluarga Nadi Pemulihan.’ Both videos carry the NCB’s message, emphasising the importance of providing ongoing support to individuals concerned, especially from their families, in working together to help them through the lifelong recovery process.
The two-day exhibition is open to the public, providing information on recovery services and programmes, as well as raising awareness about the dangers of drugs. Also taking part in the exhibition are relevant Government agencies and Non-Governmental Organisations.
