Post: Immigration Operation in Bandar Seri Begawan Leads to Arrests

Bandar seri begawan: The Department of Immigration and National Registration, JIPK, conducted a targeted law enforcement operation under 'Operasi Kakas' in Mukim Pengkalan Batu. The operation focused on inspecting houses and rental rooms for immigration violations.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the operation resulted in the arrest of four foreigners who are suspected of overstaying in the country following the expiration of their immigration passes. Additionally, three of the individuals were suspected of working while on a Visit Pass, and another individual was believed to be employed by a different employer than indicated on their pass.

In a related case, Jamaludin, a 46-year-old Indonesian national, was sentenced to four months of imprisonment and three strokes of whipping. He pleaded guilty to overstaying in the country after his immigration pass had expired. The sentence was enforced starting 13th January 2026.
