Green Spikers and Tamaraws Aim to Extend Winning Streak in V-League Matchups
MANILA – De La Salle University and Far Eastern University will look to maintain their winning streaks in the upcoming V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge games at Paco Arena this Wednesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Green Spikers are set to face the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, who have yet to win a game this season, at 12 noon. De La Salle comes into this match after securing a victory against the University of Santo Tomas on August 7, with notable performances from Joshua Magalaman, Eugene Gloria, and Michael John Fortuna, who scored 13 and 12 points respectively.
Following this, FEU, which also holds a 2-0 record so far, will challenge the University of Perpetual Help at 2 p.m. The Tamaraws previously triumphed over the Ateneo Blue Eagles in a closely contested match, largely thanks to a strong showing by Mikko Espartero. The Altas are coming off a hard-fought win against the Letran Knights, making the upcoming game a critical test for both teams.
In the women’s division, the Lady Tamaraws are set to compete against the Lyceum of the Philippines University Lady Pirates at 5 p.m., aiming for their second win. Faida Bakanke and Jean Asis, who led FEU to victory over the College of Saint Benilde last week, are expected to be key players. Meanwhile, Lyceum’s Heart Bio and Joan Doguna are gearing up to steer their team out of a two-game losing streak.
