Get-Together Ceremony with Citizens and Residents of Brunei Darussalam

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al- Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam attended a Get-Together Ceremony with citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam who are currently in the United Kingdom and Eire. Accompanying His Majesty and Her Majesty at the ceremony were His Majesty’s sons and brother,

– His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘ Adawiyyah,

– His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, and

– His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah.

 

Upon arrival, Their Majesties were greeted by His Excellency Retired First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the United Kingdom and Eire, and Pengiran Datin Noralam binti Pengiran Kahar; as well as Awangku Izz Khan Fayyadh bin Pengiran Haji Mohd. Hasreen and Dayang Nur Hazirah binti Mohammad Moshtari, President and Vice-President of the Brunei Students’ Union in the United Kingdom and Eire.

 

Shortly after arrival, His Majesty and Her Majesty then proceeded to a High Tea Reception with student representatives prior to the Get-Together Ceremony.

 

The Ceremony began with the national anthem of Brunei Darussalam and followed by the recitation of AL-Quran verses by Awang Mohammad Aqiel Hidayat @ Mohamad Azhar bin Hj Zulfa Hidayat of Coventry University, while the translation of the verses was read by Awang Muhammad Al Danish bin Muhammad Al Qusyairi of the University of the Highlands and Islands, Scotland.

 

A Doa Selamat was then read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

 

The President of the Brunei Students’ Union in the United Kingdom and Eire in a welcoming address, briefed on the theme for the Get-Together Ceremony which was “Raja Inspirasi Generasi Berakhlak”, which reminds the current generation on the charisma of His Majesty, in which His Majesty’s leadership in steering the country, character and traits are highly commended in motivating all citizens including the youth and students to work towards becoming excellent individuals and possess virtue in accordance with the Malays Islamic Monarchy, MIB.

 

His Majesty then proceeded to meet and greet some One Thousand Three Hundred citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam who are in the United Kingdom and Eire, comprising students, government officials as well as those on vacation.

 

The ceremony was also highlighted with a nasyid presentation titled ‘Hayyul Hadi’ and gulingtangan performance which among other things, provided a golden opportunity for citizens and residents in the United Kingdom and Eire to meet and greet His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
