Get-Together Ceremony Unites Brunei Sultan with Students and Citizens in Malaysia
Kuala lumpur: His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended a Get-Together ceremony with students, citizens, and residents of Brunei Darussalam residing in Malaysia. The event took place at the Hyatt Regency, Kuala Lumpur, with His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen accompanying His Majesty.
According to Radio Television Brunei, upon His Majesty’s arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr. Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md. Salleh, Minister of Education; Awang Mohd Aizul Hakim bin Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Suyoi, Acting High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia; and Dayang Amal Afiqah binti Awang Haji Rusali, President of the Brunei Students’ Union in Malaysia.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthem of Brunei Darussalam, followed by the recitation of verses from Al-Qur’an by Awang Muhammad Firdaus bin Muhammad Salleh of Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia, with Awang Muhammad Fawwaz bin Daud from KPJ Healthcare University providing the translation.
A Doa Selamat was recited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti. The President of the Brunei Students Union delivered a welcoming address, expressing gratitude to His Majesty for the opportunities, facilities, support, and assistance provided by His Majesty’s Government.
His Majesty received a pesambah from the President of the Brunei Students’ Union in Malaysia and the Vice President, Awang Shaikh Muhammad Rafi’uddin Hayat bin Shaikh Haji Osman, as well as Dayang Elyana Erniza binti Haji Lamit, Designer of the Pesambah. The event featured a performance by Brunei Students in Malaysia, marking a memorable occasion for the 1,082 students, citizens, and residents of Brunei Darussalam who had the chance to meet His Majesty.
His Majesty’s presence underscored the Monarch’s connection to his subjects and provided a cherished moment for the students, citizens, and residents abroad who hold His Majesty’s leadership in high regard.
