Get-Together Ceremony Highlights Strong Bond Between Monarch and People
Bandar seri begawan: The Get-Together Ceremony with Citizens and Residents carries a deep meaning for all levels of the community in Brunei Muara District. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam graces the event. Accompanying His Majesty were His Majesty’s sons and brothers; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
According to Radio Television Brunei, as an event that is traditionally held every year, the ceremony reflects the close ties between the Monarch and his subjects as well as the people’s love towards His Majesty. The community’s steadfastness in adhering to the Malay Islamic Monarchy concept is the pillar of the people’s well-being and unity. This unique tradition is also a manifestation of loyalty and a discourse to express the gratitude of the people and residents.
Close cooperation and strong unity among the community in this district are among the factors that contribute to the success of each activity. The active role of associations and private companies is proof of the spirit of togetherness in supporting the national development agenda. Although the community comprises multiple races, ethnicities, and religions, this does not prevent the citizens and residents from coming together as was clearly seen at this event.
This special moment is a much-anticipated opportunity not only to give birthday wishes to His Majesty, but is also considered a good opportunity to meet face to face with the Monarch with the heart of the people. His Majesty and members of the Royal Family then proceeded to a Luncheon. His Majesty was introduced to five individuals who have made significant contributions to the country. Doa selamat was read by Pengiran Haji Shahril Azman bin Pengiran Haji Metusin, Syariah Subordinate Court Judge.
