Cebu city: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, attended a Gala Dinner on the evening of May 8, in honour of Heads of State and Government from ASEAN member countries and special guests. The event was part of the 48th ASEAN Summit and Related Summit, hosted by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. of the Philippines, who is also the Chairman of ASEAN, along with First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos. His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen accompanied His Majesty at the event.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the arrival of His Majesty at the Mactan Expo in Cebu City was marked by a warm welcome from President Marcos and the First Lady.
