Four Arrested, PHP1.9 Million in Illegal Drugs Seized in Sultan Kudarat
SULTAN KUDARAT — Police in the Soccsksargen region have captured four individuals suspected of drug peddling and seized illegal drugs worth approximately PHP1.9 million during a series of operations in Sultan Kudarat province.
According to Philippines News Agency, director of Police Regional Office 12, three separate operations were executed on Friday in the coastal towns of Kalamansig and Lebak. “These successful operations are a clear manifestation of our commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in the region,” Gulmatico stated. In Barangay Barurao 2, Lebak, officials conducted a drug sting that resulted in the arrest of two men known as ‘Bata,’ aged 42, and ‘JB,’ aged 20, both hailing from Barangay Cadiz. Officers confiscated suspected shabu valued at PHP1.1 million and a hand grenade from them.
Further efforts in Barangay Poblacion, Lebak, led to the arrest of ‘Odin,’ 49, during a joint operation by police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 12 operatives, supported by military personnel. Odin, described as a high-value target, was found with PHP300,000 worth of suspected shabu and a .45-caliber pistol.
Another entrapment operation in Barangay Cadiz, Kalamansig, led to the arrest of ‘Mani,’ 52, from whom officers seized PHP544,000 worth of shabu.
Gulmatico emphasized the region’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure community safety, vowing to continue the rigorous pursuit of those involved in the drug trade.
