Bandar Seri Begawan: Awang Md Qais Zulqarnain bin Md Hadi Sumardi from Awang Haji Mohd Yusof Katimahar Primary School and Dayang Noor Nayla Naufalyn @ Alaila binti Md Syarqawi from Mabohai Primary School emerged champions of the Al-Qur'an Memorisation Competition Specially for Students with Special Needs from Government Primary Schools respectively. The final of the competition organised by the Department of Special Education was held at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, 13th March morning.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the competition aimed to integrate Al-Qur'an reading into students' daily routines and foster a deeper understanding of the holy verses of Al-Qur'an. Aside from that, it upholds the concept of Inclusive Education to ensure that students with special needs have equal opportunities in various fields, including mastering Al-Qur'an reading.
