Get-Together Ceremony with Citizens and Residents
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam; and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam attended a Get-Together Ceremony with citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam who are currently in Malaysia and Singapore. The Ceremony was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Accompanying His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri was Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Upon arrival, His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri were greeted by Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd. Salleh, Minister of Education; His Excellency Retired Brigadier General Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia and spouse; and Dayang Nur Nazirah binti Haji Affandi, President of the Brunei Students’ Representative Council in Malaysia; as well as Dayang Nur Bazlina Masrurah binti Haji Mustafa, Deputy President of Administration and Finance of the Brunei Students’ Council in Malaysia.
His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri then proceeded for a Light Refreshment, followed by the signing of commemorative parchments and a group photograph session.
The ceremony began with the National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam, followed by a reading of Al-Quran verses by Awang Ahmad Sabiq bin Ahmad from University Malaya and its interpretation read by Awang Muhammad Hafizhan bin Hamdani from Asia Pacific University.
Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz Bin Juned, the State Mufti.
The President of the Brunei Students’ Representative Council in Malaysia, in her welcoming address, expressed appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty, as the Monarch’s presence has boosted the students’ spirits to study diligently as well as gave a pledge of unwavering loyalty and allegiance to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri received a pesambah from the Brunei Students’ Representative Council in Malaysia.
Their Majesties then mingled with some 730 citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam who are currently in Malaysia and Singapore, comprising students, government officials who are on duty and attending courses as well as those who are on holiday with their families.
