Pangasinan Farmers Receive Support from NIA Amid El Niño Challenges

Bugallon – The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) has allocated resources to assist farmers in Pangasinan in coping with the El Niño phenomenon, distributing 643 water pumps and constructing nine solar-powered irrigation systems.

According to Philippines News Agency, Engineer John Molano, division manager at NIA-Pangasinan, stated that these measures aim to irrigate over 65,000 hectares of farmland across the province. Additionally, the ongoing construction of the Dumuloc Small Reservoir Irrigation Project is set to benefit nearly 1,500 families by providing a stable water supply for agriculture. This comprehensive approach underscores NIA’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector through enhanced irrigation infrastructure.
