294 Individuals Convert to Islam in Nine Months; Latest Convert a Filipino Woman

Islamic Da’wah Centre – Between January and September of this year, 294 people have converted to Islam.

According to a news release by Radio Television Brunei, the latest conversion ceremony took place on the morning of October 28. Of the total converts, 65 were Filipinos. The latest convert, originally named Margie Landiga Caermare, is now known as Dayang Farah Syazadi binti Abdullah. She cited her deep interest in Islamic teachings as the reason for her conversion. Datin Hajah Nahriah binti Haji Awang Asbi, wife of the Minister of Religious Affairs, was among those present at the ceremony.
