EPiC Workshop Aims to Enhance Brunei’s Sustainable Development Efforts
Bandar Seri Begawan: The Every Policy is Connected, or EPiC Workshop, was convened with the aim of identifying national priorities, formulating targeted actions, aligning policy initiatives with data requirements, and addressing critical information gaps. The workshop is anticipated to further bolster national efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and realize The Wawasan Brunei 2035 for the well-being of both current and future generations. The event was officially opened at the Prime Minister’s Office on the morning of May 13.
According to Radio Television Brunei, in her speech, Pengiran Hajah Siti Nirmala binti Pengiran Haji Mohammad, the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office and Chair of the National SDGs Coordination Committee, stated that the workshop introduces EPiC as a strategic tool to support the Special National Coordination Committee on the SDGs and its Secretariat in the development of Brunei Darussalam’s Sustainability Priorities Action Plan. This initiative is set to enhance inter-agency coordination and encourage a comprehensive government response to sustainable development.
The three-day workshop is organized by the Prime Minister’s Office, serving as the Secretariat to the National Coordination Committee on SDGs for Brunei Darussalam, in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
