Customs and Law Enforcement Seize Smuggled Goods in Joint Operation
Bandar Seri Begawan: The Royal Customs and Excise Department, in collaboration with the Royal Brunei Police Force and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, executed a joint operation on May 8, 2025, targeting a residence in RPN Kampung Lambak Kanan.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the operation led to the arrest of two local men and a male permanent resident, aged between 21 and 42, for possessing a significant quantity of contraband. Authorities confiscated 1,500 cartons of cigarettes, 10 cans of alcoholic beverages, and a vape unit. Additionally, they seized $1,752 in cash, suspected to be the proceeds from the illegal sale of the contraband, as well as two vehicles believed to be used in smuggling operations. All items and individuals involved were taken to the Law Enforcement Section of the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further investigation.
