Bandar seri begawan: The Royal Brunei Police Force marked another significant event in its efforts to strengthen the security of the country’s waters, with the Commissioning of a new Interceptor Class Boat, ICB. This is a strategic achievement under the Royal Brunei Police Force’s Maritime Operations Plan, in line with Wawasan Brunei 2035 towards creating a safe, resilient and prosperous nation. The commissioning ceremony took place at a resort in Jalan Kota Batu.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the commissioning was inaugurated by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence. The ICB is equipped with the latest navigation and communication systems, specially designed for high-speed patrols, interception of suspicious targets and rapid response to incidents of smuggling, border incursions and cross-border crime.
